We published the results of the 2024 vegan cheese awards and from the results we shall take a deeper look in to the vegan cheeses and the countries that these vegan cheeses are made in.
Below you can see the country locations and how many categories were won by the 15 countries from around the world.

And below you can see how many category wins each country won in this years awards with the bar chart and as you can see, the United States, England, Bali and Germany all have four category wins each.
Followed by Portugal, Japan, Switzerland, Greece and Canada all getting two category wins and the remaining countries getting one win out of the 31 possible categories up for grabs.
Vegan Cheese Category Winners by Country
So which cheeses won for each country, below we'll go through the winners and show which cheeses represented which countries.
There was one category winner from Finland and the cheese was
- Mo Chavre vegan cheese won the best No Goats vegan cheese and it was their first ever category win in our vegan cheese awards since 2019.
There were a total of four category winners from the United States of America that were split between three vegan cheeses and they were
- Mad Cheese Gouda Vibes won the bet overall vegan cheese and the best gouda category
- Kite Hill Ricotta won the best ricotta vegan cheese
- Miyokos Plant Milk Mozzarella won the best mozzarella vegan cheese
Portugal had two category winners, both of those categories were won by the same cheese company and they were
- Muka Brito won the best vegan brie category
- Muka Aged Porcini won the best aged category
Similar to the USA, England also had four vegan cheese category wins with the following cheeses taking the top prizes
- I Am Nut OK Meltdown Smoky won the best American style category
- Happy Mouse Cranberry won the best fruit category
- Sophies Delight Halloushmi won the best halloumi vegan cheese category
- Tyne Chease Ethiopian Spice won the best spiced category
Japan had two category wins and similar to Portugal were won by the same vegan cheese maker for both of the categories
- Vego Japan Black Ash won the best ash category
- Vego Japan オーツの白カビチーズ Vegan Oat Cheese won the best manchego category
Bali came in as one of the top winning countries with an amazing four vegan cheese categories being taken by vegan cheeses from this small island country.
- Treenut Cheezery Gorgonzola won the best blue vegan cheese
- Oh Cheeses Thats Good Camembert won the best camembert category
- Oh Cheeses Thats Good Sambal Havarti won the best havarti for the awards
- Oh Cheeses Thats Good Mediterranean Chevre won the best mediterranean vegan cheese category
The final joint leaders of the country leader board, Germany also took four category wins with the following cheeses
- Jane's Cheeze Dom de Neige Blütensalz won the best floral, and her amazing cheeses have won for the past three years
- Schlagfix Vegan Mascarpone won the best mascarpone for the year but have also won this category for every year we've held the awards, which total 6 years as category winners in a row
- Mondarella Soft Rouge won the best pepper category
- Jane's Cheeze Mont Brequin Trüffelöl und rosa Pfefferbeeren won the best truffle vegan cheese category
Switzerland are always in the fight for some of the best vegan cheeses of the year and at this years awards that was no different. They won two categories this year with the following cheeses.
- New Roots Fondue won the best fondue category
- Vegusto No Moo Piquant won the best swiss style vegan cheese category, this one was a joint win with another cheese maker
Wales is a tiny but mighty country, always having vegan cheeses in the nominees listings to be voted on and this year they won a category award with the following cheese.
- Good Carma Parmesan Style Original Flavour Fusion by Good Carma Foods won the best topping category.
There is a well known world brand for vegan cheese that comes from Greece and in previous years have won the best overall vegan cheese and many of the award categories, this year they won two of the categories and they are.
- Violife Greek White Block which won the best greek category
- Violife Original Cream Cheese won the best plain vegan cheese category in this years awards
Italy are back winning an award with one of our favourite vegan cheeses and the cheese that represents Italy in this years category winners is:
- Pangea Foods Aged Gondino and it is fitting that this cheese from Italy won the best Hard Italian vegan cheese category.
UAE are a new category winner not having won any before in the previous 6 years of awards. The cheese that won a category award this year was the:
- Nuttino Chives Cashew Spread which won the best herb vegan cheese category with their tasty cheese spread
Canada are represented with two category wins from some amazing vegan cheese makers and they are
- Daiya Provolone Slices which won the best provolone category
- Fauxmagerie Zengarry Creamy Swiss won the best Swiss style category along with Vegusto
Australia are back again this year with a category award, the cheese that represents this southern hemisphere country are
- Artisa Gladstone which won the best smoked category
Finally we have France, one of the leading countries in the world with some of the best vegan cheeses we have ever tasted and they have one category winner for this years awards.
