With one of the main reasons that people say they can't go vegan, is cheese. Their love of cheese, and it was the same for us, cheese was by far the hardest food for us to quit.

 Well this first episode of Living on the Veg gives you one delicious "how to" recipe on creating vegan cheese in your own kitchen.

 Well this first episode of Living on the Veg gives you one delicious "how to" recipe on creating vegan cheese in your own kitchen.

Main ingredients being cashew nuts which is quite a popular choice for vegan cheese making, however it is also mixed with aquafaba (chickpea water) which is not such a common ingredient of the process. It is particularly viscose making it lovely and thick to work with and great at binding together the ingredients for the home made vegan cheese.  Thin slices of carrot and coconut oil are also used as well as the good old vegan nooch (nutritional yeast).

There are extra ingredients added to help provide the melted cheese texture. We'll not give away all the ingredients used, but if you check out the show on ITV you'll be sure to be amazed.

Initially I have to say the mixture looks like a delicious soup until the ingredients are whizzed together and left to create a wonderfully thick gloopy smooth melted cheese.
