Koko Dairy Free alternative to cheddar is completely dairy free and has a mature but mellow taste which we believe is the closest to dairy cheddar on the market. It's perfect sliced on sandwiches, grated as a topping or used in cooking. It's also great from a nutritional perspective as it has fewer calories and less fat than dairy cheddar but contains the same level of calcium plus added vitamins D2 and B12. What's more it's free from artificial colours, preservatives and flavourings. The only fortified dairy-free cheese on the market, our cheddar block is suitable for vegans, coeliacs and those with allergies.

Tastes like a mild cheddar…
Tastes like a mild cheddar cheese but not overly cheesey
The texture is great, which…
The texture is great, which was was I thought it would be good. It tasted sweet to me and also like licorice, but I have been told I am "supertaster" with strong sense of taste especially artificial flavourings. I don't remember if I had it on toast, but uncooked I couldn't eat it.
I don't even like a strong cheese taste usually, it was the sweetness that put me off the most. It was almost like the licorice root as a sweetner, so maybe it was a plant based sweetener I am sensitive to?
Best raw cheese I've had
This is the only vegan cheese I'd want to eat on a cracker. Tastes excellent unembellished, but I like it on a wheat cracker with a dab of onion jam.

Lets find out more about it!
This is under-rated, I think it should be a more popular choice. It has that mild cheddar cheese taste that is mellow and delicious.
