This is a review of the I Am Nut OK C'E Dairy vegan cheese. This has to be one of their most mourish of vegan cheese we have tasted.

Made of wholesome ingredients: cashew nuts, coconut oil, organic miso, nutritional yeast, lemon, pink himalayan salt, tapioca, mustard, lactic acid, cultures.

Appearance

Looking a little an alternative to a lighter toned cheddar cheese. This wedge has some delightful greases through it which gives you the idea this is quite a dense yet creamy kind of cheese. This vegan cheese is coated in an earthy acai super berry powder which looks quite dark and gives a lovely contrast to the mellow appearance of the cheese.

Aroma

The C'e Dairy from I AM NUT OK doesn't seem to give to much away when it comes to the aroma. It is very subtle in its scent and infact you'll find you pick out the smell of the acai berry powder dusting more.

Flavour

The taste of the C'e dairy is a great one for new to trying vegan cheese. These has hints of miso, nutritional yeast and cashew that together help replicate a dairy kind of taste without having any dairy. It has a subtle taste yet at the same time as a slight mature flavour to it. This is a mourish kind of cheese but I do feel if you don't like miso you won't enjoy this cheese as much.

Texture

IIts semi-soft texutre is a little firm but still ulimately soft and squidgy to touch. The texture is dense but nicely crumbles away when you slice through it or even when you bite into it. It works wonderfully well on crackers and spreads very easily onto toast or even on top of one of the growing number of delightful vegan burgers.

Longevity

This vegan cheese should be eaten within a few days You can store in the fridge between 3-5 C wrapped well in placed in a container. There is the option to freeze the cheese for up to 4 months however the cheese may loose some of the sharpness to its flavour.

 

Environmental Credentials

This cheese uses many wholesome and natural ingredients and the cheese was not shipped internationally.

Summary

The I AM NUT OK C'e Dairy is a great little vegan cheese to try if your new to the variety of flavours to the world of vegan cheese. It is subtle yet miso like, soft yet even a little dairy like (without the dairy!).
