Authentically developed by an ex-dairy cheesemaker for true dairy-like flavours that are paired with great textures.

Uses dairy-methods for greater flavours without any tricks.

Tasting profile: Authentically smoked using real wood for 5-8 hours. Complete with a tangy profile and a subtly sweet finish.

Reminiscent of mild cheddar or Wensleydale cheese.

Texture: Firm and creamy with a tiny bit of a crumble factor.

Maturity: 20-30 days minimum.

Uses: Can be sliced, grated, and can be melted on the hob with any kind of plant milk.

Wine Pairing: South African syrah wine with big smokey, peppery and slightly chocolatey flavours.

No shortcuts were taken here. This cheese is traditionally outdoor cold smoked for 5-8 hours using real Maple Wood.

With a good natural smoked flavour and subtle sweet notes, it complements the firm texture, sharpness and tangy notes of the cheese.

A cross between a Cheddar and Wensleysdale cheese, this vegan alternative can be sliced, grated or melted into a cheese sauce on the hob.

Appearance

Has a creamy, white inner with a darker mellow golden outer tone to it.

The cheese comes in a wedge shape form, which is a slice of the overall cheese wheel it has come from.

I also quite like the fact your having just "a piece" of one wheel, there are other people around the country eating part of the same delightful cheese wheel too.

Aroma

I could sniff and sniff this vegan cheese all day long!

It has a rich warm smokey tone to it, a real depth that really grabs on to the senses.

You can see why when you learn this cheese has been authentically smoked using real wood for between 5 and 8 hours... thats a good deal of smoking time.

Flavour

This vegan cheese is not all about the smokiness and yet is all about the smokiness.

The smokiness to this cheese is the most real in taste we have experienced, you can really taste the difference that this has genuinely been smoked for hours over cheese that has just had a "smoked" flavouring added.

Its flavour has depth and you can tell.

It has a number of tones that draw you in, it has a subtle sweetness that you would normally associate with a Wensleydale cheese but the slight saltiness and charisma of a cheddar all on top of the fact this is a smoked cheese, makes this one top notch smoked vegan cheese!

Texture

As texture goes this is an aged firm smoked cheese and currently writing this I don't think there is another smoked cheese with this firmness that we have tried.

It takes a firm hand to slice through the cheese and you'll see a teeny little delicious crumble along with it as its sliced.

Longevitiy

This vegan cheese can be frozen, like many others and once opened should be consumed within 4 weeks and kept in the fridge.

Summary

One of the best vegan cheeses we have ever tried, we love smoky flavours, the firmness is almost unique and is an absolute pleasurable taste sensation.
