Appearance
The Nush almond spread comes in a little tub with a foil lid. Once opened it exposed the Nush cream cheese.
From a first scoop of the vegan cheese it looks white, creamy yet quite firm in its scoop, it leaves a scoop mark in the cream and even holds it's own well on the knife.
Aroma
It smells creamy, milky, yet a little nutty and a little salty.
It's a pleasant yogurt smell that we really enjoy.
Flavour
This is a gentle cream cheese on the palette, cold, cooling and delightfully creamy.
As you eat this cheese it melts in your mouth.
Texture
This is a soft cheese rather than a cream cheese. It holds stiff untill you spread it onto a cracker or bread.
This is a cheese that will also thicken up a sauce for that extra cheesiness, perfect to spread in to a pasta dish and watch it melt in to the pasta to make a lovely creamy vegan cheese sauce.
Longevity
This cream cheese needs to be kept refrigerated. However you cannot put in the freezer.
Once openned it is recommened the cheese be consumed with 2-3 days.
Environmental Credentials
The tub is made from card which is recycleable but the lid is made from plastic which is not fully recyclable.
Summary
The Nush Natural Almond Cheese Spread is thick, creamy and easily eaten on it's own spread on a cracker as a refreshing snack or mixed into a hot dish for an extra delightful creaminess.
