This is a review of the Left Coast Culture Highland Havarti Vegan Cheese.
Appearance

Comes as a semi-soft white cheese wedge. It also has a number of holes in it which has a great cheese look to it.
When drawing a cheese, this is pretty much what cheese most people would draw, does it taste as good as it looks?
Aroma

Had a very mild aroma to it until the cheese was grilled, this really brought out quite the cheesy tone.
The difference in smells between raw and grilled is quite considerable, showing how plain the cheese is when eaten raw or with just crackers.
Flavour

This is a plain cheese with no extra herbs or popping fruity flavours but it doesn't need these extras.
It has a creamy yet suble flavour. If you used to enjoy dairylea cheese well this is a cheese we feel is the closest you'll find to it that we have tried.
Texture

Has quite a spongey, thick gooey texture thats bouncey.
It is delightfully easy to slice through and works tremendously well melted and grilled.
Longevitiy

Recommends to keep refrigerated and dry. As well as only keeping for a few days and then rewrapping in preferred food wrap.
Th use by date was the 13th October and arrived on the 5th October, which means you get a weeks use by date out of it when ordered.
Environmental Credentials
The cheese comes wrapped in paper.
Summary
This is a fantastic plain vegan cheese, one of the best we've ever had.
It has a fantastic texture, smooth plain cheesy, almost yogurt style smell but without the sourness.
What surprised us was how well it melted too.
This is definitely one you should be trying if you're in the UK.
