Appearance

Firstly you get a more than decent size 200gram block of vegan cheese which we love as vegan cheese goes very quickly here! It comes in a rectanglular shape. It's colour is orangey and you can see little pieces of red sundried tomatoes throughout the block.

Aroma

This cheese has a red cheesey, slight smokey smell, you'll also get that mediteraean sense from the pieces of sundried tomato in the cheese too.

You'll also find a very faint deep earthy smell from it, this should be from the miso and nuts used in the making of this vegan cheese.

Flavour

The cheese is full of flavour, it has a deep rich umami tone, that has that smokiness of paprika and a little bit of sweetness that comes with the juicy sundried tomatoes.

This cheese makes for a great addition to a sandwich, cheese and crackers or even just nibbles on it's own when cut into cubes.

The taste is strong and lasting, with a slight acidic after taste at the end.

Texture

The texture looks hard at first sight, but is actually semi-soft, it slices wonderfully well and falls off the knife well, the slices are firm but can be spread over bread or crackers.

This is definitely a semi soft cheese and doesn't make for easily grated cheese, it does grate, just not very well as it's not that firm.

However saying that once grated, sprinkled onto bread and grilled does make for a fine grilled cheese. The cheese doesn't melt but does crisp up nicely and also changes the taste a little to a more neutral flavour.
