Ingredients: Cashews, Almond Milk, Lemon Juice, Tahini, Nutritional Yeast, Pink Salt, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Agar, Green Jalapeños, Red Jalapeños, Water.

Appearance

This is a pretty cheese to look at. Straight away it has a classic "pepper jack" look, with a rectangular shape white cheese with plentiful pops of jalapeno pieces, this cheese also includes both red and green jalepeno.

The cheese comes in a sealed packet that leaves little indents on the cheese that gives us hints as to the cheese's texture. You get a good size block of 190 grams to try.

Aroma

Peppery tone hits you and we loved its smell right out of the packet!

Flavour

We really enjoyed the warm flavours of this cheese.

A bite provides you with a creamy, slightly sharp taste and the cheese contrasts nicely with those pops of heat that develop from the jalapeno as it sits in your mouth.

The heat definitely lingers, this cheese is one for those who like hot food, including jalapenos.

For a cheese to be gentle but spicy is quite the trick on the palette. The added difference of both red and green jalapenos means you get both a spicy but also slight sweetness to the red jalepenos or fresh, crispness of the green japenos in each bite or both together. 

 

Texture

Has a softer supple texture, a little like tofu and like a mozzarella style cheese.

It cuts well, it's texture is moist.

It has a semi-soft nature when the cheese is pulled out of the fridge and this cheese is a melter!

Makes for a delicious toasted cheese sandwich, or added to your favourite vegan burger. 

Summary

This is a cheese with a punch, it gives you creamy textures, it gives you heat.

It's got versatility for a cold delight or a warm treat melted on toast or grilled cheese sandwich.

We'd also say these cheese works well for beginners to vegan cheese due to the flavours that are similar to a pepper jack cheese.
