Appearance
What a beauty, it's a wonderful biosphere of aging white, grey and blue colours. I could easily just stare at it's interesting exterior.
Once you slice into the cheese it becomes even more dynamic. Little creases, air folds and pockets, almost looks like little parts of blue geode outline shapes on the interior.
As you make your way through this cheese, which you will quite quickly, you'll have never ending joy to this little blue beauty.
As you can tell, we love the look of this vegan blue by Palace Culture.
Aroma
This is a vegan cheese with a bit of a stink on and we love it! It smells old, it smells vintage and it smells blue.
You can smell this vegan cheese from afar away and we're happy with that. The problem is, you'll have a little of it on a cracker or with a salad and you'll just want more.
Flavour
The Sacre Bleu tastes as delicious and dynamic as it looks. If you've been trying to find a vegan blue cheese that tastes old and mouldy in a beautifully aged manner, this-is it and you will love it!
This is a vegan cheese that is excellent to eat as it is or even on a cracker, maybe chop into a salad with walnuts.
You will get a very strong blue flavour grow as you taste the cheese, which finishes beautifully with a creamy and slightly tart finish.
Our mouths were drooling for more after each taste. What we loved is our second tasting at dinner time was almost a better experience than the first.
We mixed it with our meals, alone with a savoury rice it melted perfectly and twinned with other foods it just seemed to work.
This is white wine infused vegan cheese and this came through very subtly, we are not big white wine drinkers but are very happy with this mix.
There is a strong blue flavour to this and you should be aware of that if you are trying a vegan blue for the first time and haven't had cheese in a few months. But be reassured that you will love the flavour of this as you warm to its strong flavourings.
Texture
It's texture is semi soft with soft gooey bits in the middle, a slightly tougher exterior makes for an interesting texture on the tongue as you make your way through this vegan blue cheese.
When warmed or spread it can melt and soften up really well.
Summary
A beautifully strong vegan blue, this takes us back and hits the right spots.
Mouldy, creamy and strong, there is nothing to complain about with this vegan cheese.
We give this vegan cheese a 10 out of 10.
