Appearance

A beautiful work of art, this cheese is a white crumbly looking cheese that looks similar to feta.

On top of the cheese is a colourful floral and herb garden of rose petals with wild oregano and dill, looks the perfect treat for a summers day or for a winters evening with a glass of wine.. or should I say presecco.

Aroma

This cheese has a fermented milk aroma to it that crazily makes it feel not vegan when it really is! There is an aromatic tone that comes with the floral and herbs added too.

Flavour

The Betta Feta, is super creamy, wonderfully salty, has a tangy fermented taste that is not too overpowering but gives it that extra body that makes the bold flavours linger.

It is also a little acidic and lively and there is a hint of presecco in there. To top it off there is an extra vibrancy provided by the outer coating of rose petals, oregano and dill.

Texture

This is a wonderfully soft cheese that crumbles into pieces. The cheese bakes well and we found it made a fantastic toasted sandwich that really ozzed with warm Betta Feta.

Longevity

The cheese needs to be kept refrigerated and below 5 degrees. Consume within 5 days of opening.

Environmental Credentials

Strictly Roots say that they aim to be as eco friendly and sustainable as possible and are constantly striving to reduce waste and eliminate plastic in production and packaging. Tubs used are veg ware and the cheese is wrapped in a biodegradable film that is made from plants.

Ingredients are also organic where possible.

Summary

This vegan cheese has to be one of the best vegan alternatives to Feta we have ever tried, in terms of it's texture, taste and flavour it really ticks the boxes.

It is also quite the versatile cheese that tastes great cold or warm and to top it if is beautifully adorned with rose petals, herbs and has hints of prosecco inside..what more could you want!?

If you love a salty and creamy vegan cheese, you'll love this.
